Tampa Bay’s Morning Krewe

Weekdays 6:00AM - 10:00AM

Today’s Krewe Klip of the Day features the worst actors in Tampa Bay. You probably have seen these actors on social media because those actors are us! All week long we have attempted to recreate our favorite movie scenes in segment we call “The Morning Krewe Actor’s Studio“. Each day one of us will pick a scene and a partner to act that scene out with. The other person tries to guess the scene that the other two are acting out.

Today’s scene was from the classic comedy “Tommy boy” starring Chris Farley and David Spade. This iconic scene shows their characters Tommy and Richard sitting in a diner reflecting on their failed business trip. A waitress comes over to take their order as they are discussing how they are going to save the company that Tommy now runs. Tommy’s frustration spills over in the form of a comedic meltdown.

J.R. and Launa took on the acting challenge while Kevin tried to guess the movie. Although entertaining, J.R. and Launa take home the award for the worst actors in Tampa Bay. J.R. took on the role of Tommy while Launa took the role of the lack luster waitress. Things escalate pretty quickly when J.R. reenacts the meltdown by comparing his lack of success to a dinner roll that he then destroys. Launa, in character as the waitress, is in both shock and confused on why Tommy is losing it in front of her.

Tommy boy is one of  the Morning Krewe’s favorite movies. It takes place in Ohio but was filmed in Toronto and Lost Angeles. Released in 1995 its box office success was rather modest. Since then it has become a cult classic over the years. We just hope we did it a little bit of justice.
