Disabled Vet From Lutz Gets Well Deserved New Home

This story is so great we had to highlight it.  A disabled vet from Lutz gets a well deserved new home from the Gary Sinise Foundation and it's amazing.

Former Army Chief Warrant Officer Romy Camargo, his wife, Gaby, and their two children received the keys to a brand-new house in Lutz, which was custom built with a design and technology to allow Romy to live a more independent life.  The spacious home was custom built for him.

This was all provided by the Gary Sinise Foundation.  Gary Sinise played Lieutenant Dan in "Forrest Gump" and now he runs a foundation that builds homes for real-life wounded warriors and their families.  This is the 79th home that has been dedicated by the Gary Sinise Foundation.

Romy Camargo became paralyzed when he was shot in the spine during a humanitarian mission 14 years ago.  The Camargo family was selected not just for the sacrifices they have made, but also for his ongoing service to help other wounded warriors.

The couple operates the Stay in Step Spinal Cord Injury Recovery Center in Tampa.

Sinise also surprised the couple with a check for $25,000 to their organization.  They have a great motto: “While we can never do enough, we can always do a little more.”

Love seeing these types of things happen to our men and women who have sacrificed so much for our country.  Romy is in a wheelchair for the rest of life and this is just a small thank you for his sacrifice.  Love that Gary Sinise has this foundation to help those just like Romy and his wife Gabby.
