Carrie Underwood on stage is as natural and comfortable as can be; it's off stage that she says she gets a little anxious now and then.

Carrie said in a recent interview, "As a human, as a person separate from what I do, I actually don't want to go to restaurants, I don't want to travel, I don't want to go anywhere. I love being at home. I would literally never leave my house if... My husband's an extrovert; he's got like a million friends, and we're always hanging out with them and stuff like that."

She added, "I feel like we balance each other out; we don't need to go out all the time, so I pull him back a little bit, but we do need to go out sometimes." She says her husband asks her on occasions, "Can we please interact with other people?"

Underwood admits that many people around in social situations make her feel uneasy. She offered, "I get nervous in crowds and in group settings and stuff like that. But on stage, honestly, there's so much about it that I kind of feel like I'm the only human when I'm on stage and when I am singing. It gets really weird. Obviously, I know that there are other people out there, and I sing to them, and hopefully, I am entertaining them, but in some ways, I feel like I am free and like I am the only person anywhere on stage."
