Our first responder this week is Allison and her military service lead her to meeting her husband. Now, Allison is an officer for the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office.
Allison's friend, Jessica, nominated her and Jessica told us how Allison has received an award recently. The award was for putting her life on the line to save another in a shooting incident.
Not only is Jessica an officer, but she is also a retired Army vet. That is where Allison's military service lead her to meeting her husband. They both grew up in the Tampa Bay area, but didn't know each other. They went into the Army and ended up both being stationed in Colorado and that is where they met.
Allison and her husband have been married for about a year. We asked Jessica how she knows Allison and she told us that she is Allison's sister-in-law as Allison's husband is Jessica's brother.
Jessica also told us that Allison is mom to a 1-year-old and it takes up most of her time when she is not being a police officer. Every time the two of them get together to hang out it is always something baby friendly.
We love hearing stories about our first responders. To show our gratitude we give a $100 Visa gift card from our friends at Crown Buick GMC to pass on to Allison.
Every Friday we honor a first responder in Tampa Bay. Do you have someone in your life that is a first responder? Someone that you admire, a relative, a friend, a child? Whoever it is that you want to spotlight. We want to hear from you, and you can nominate someone right now by doing so HERE. The nomination process takes about five minutes. Once you nominate someone we will be in touch with you to schedule a call with you.
