It was supposed to be Paul and Brittany's wedding day but the bride-to-be had to be admitted into the ICU at Tampa General Hospital (TGH) for emergency surgery. Wasting no time, the couple decided to get married in the hour before the operation and requested a chaplain.
That's when the TGH staff snapped into action and truly went above and beyond. Brittany's ICU room was turned into a wedding chapel! It was decorated with balloons; there was music, a wedding bouquet, wedding cake, even a wedding veil made from surgical gauze! The nuptials were performed with a bunch of the TGH staff attending and then Brittany went off to surgery. The procedure went well and Brittany was discharged from the hospital.
The happy couple will have a great story to tell about their wedding day! Props to the TGH staff for doing a fantastic job!
