Kenny Chesney lived up to the saying, “The show must go on,” over the weekend; while he was on stage in Philadelphia, his finger started to bleed in the middle of a song, and Kenny just kept playing and singing.

While playing “American Kids” for the capacity crowd, he cut his finger, had a crew member tape him up, and never missed a beat or word of the song. Done in a matter of seconds, it showed how well-oiled Chesney’s road family truly is.

Chesney said after the show in a press release, “There was no way I was breaking the momentum of that song. We were in it, and I wasn’t going to stop. We know how to roll with whatever happens, so when I looked down, saw I was bleeding, it was just a matter of getting the right tape out there – and making sure the tape would hold ’cause obviously it gets pretty hot.”

The Lincoln Financial Field at the home of the Philadelphia Eagles was not only his tenth completely sold-out show at the venue; he surpassed his personal record-setting 2015 and 2018 with 55,519 fans packed into the stadium.

He posted to Instagram, after the show, “Thank you, Philadelphia, for one magical return. You made our 10th show at the home of the @philadelphiaeagles one special, magical night. We will take this moment with us the rest of the summer!!!! #HereAndNowTour #KCPhiladelphia.”
