Florida Man Busted For Stealing His Twin Brother’s Identity
Is this a case of sibling rivalry taken to a new extreme? A Florida Man was busted for stealing his twin brother’s identity.
Wayne Bowen stole his estranged twin brother’s name, social security card and military discharge papers in 2014. The Florida Man used his new identity to steal almost $64,000 in government benefits including housing subsidies and VA services. Bowen’s twin brother confirmed to officials that he did not apply for any of these benefits and that he never gave Bowen permission to use his name.
Bowen was sentenced to two years in Federal prison for aggravated identity theft and must repay $63,773 in restitution.
