Here’s how an encounter with a rude person turned into $10 million.

LaQuedra Edwards had just put $40 into a California Lottery Scratchers vending machine. While she was deciding which scratch-off tickets to purchase, a stranger bumped into her and caused LaQuendra to accidentally push the wrong button on the machine. “He just bumped into me, didn’t say a thing and just walked out the door,” she told the California Lottery.

The button she hit was for a $30 ticket instead of the lower cost ones she was planning on buying. LaQuendra went back to her car and started to scratch off the high-priced lottery ticket. When all the numbers were revealed, she had won the top prize of $10 million!

I almost crashed my car” on the way home,” said Edwards. “I pulled over, looked at it again and again, scanned it with my app, and I just kept thinking, ‘This can’t be right,’” she said.

That person who so rudely bumped into LaQuendra turned her into a big lottery winner.
