Maren Morris Says Country Music Has ‘A Lot Of Work To Do’
Maren Morris and her husband Ryan Hurd walked the Red Carpet at the 64th Annual Grammy Awards yesterday (4/3), where they were nominated for Best Duo / Group Performance for their duet “Chasing After You,” and they stopped to chat with E! News.
The interviewer for E! complimented Maren on her album Humble Quest and the album’s title track citing the lyrics “I was so nice ’til I woke up / I was polite ’til I spoke up.” She then asked what inspired that line, and Maren responded, saying, “We all were looking at our phones a lot during the pandemic, and it got kind of divided and crazy and hot, and I just and I just felt like saying that especially in country music where I love it there. it’s my home, but we’ve got a lot of work to do.”
