State Road 56 Will Not Shutdown At I-75 This Weekend

If you are in the Land O Lakes/Wesley Chapel area this weekend then you need to know that State Road 56 will shutdown at I-75 this weekend. It will close this Friday at 11 p.m. and will re-open on Sunday afternoon.

The construction crews will be working on the intersections transitioning into a diverging diamond. “The main thing that drivers will notice is we’re gonna take State Road 56 traffic to the left side of the road through the interchange and then cross them back over to the right side of the road on the opposite side of the interchange,” FDOT spokesperson, Kris Carson, said . “This is really going to help allow those vehicles to enter the interstate without waiting at that left turn signal.”

Even though the I-75 overpass will be closed the ramp to I-75 Southbound and the I-75 Northbound exit ramp to State Road 56 will remain open.

Your best ways around the closure this weekend will be Bruce B. Downs, Dale Mabry or US 41.
