We were shocked when we heard the news. The VOICE of the Florida State Seminoles, Gene Deckerhoff, has announced that he is retiring. Deckerhoff is calling it quits next month after an incredible 43 year run at FSU.
“It has been a lifetime of great moments—great players, great coaches, great games, great memories, and most of all great Seminole fans,” Deckerhoff said in a written statement. “A life’s work that reads like a best selling novel played out on the radio. I have been blessed. Thank you FSU.”
Deckerhoff’s last game at FSU will be on April 9th.
Bucs fans can rest easy, Gene Deckerhoff WILL NOT be retiring as the voice of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers!
