Polk Teacher Accused Of Biting Kids Over Pickle Jar
Polk teacher accused of biting kids over pickle jar. Hey. we all love pickles, right? Not sure what exactly happened here. But now it looks like teacher, Rhonda Rice is facing misdemeanor battery charges over the “give me that pickle jar” pickle biting incident.
A Polk Schools rep said the teacher claims she was “just playing around” with the students. One mom, Kathy Toro said, “I think she needs to learn what she did and what she did was wrong.” Kathy’s 15 year old nephew attends Bartow Middle. She said he was working with another student at the school store. The story goes – when Rice tried to take a jar of pickles, the students tried to get it back, and she bit their arms? She got the pickles. But no longer works at the school. Teacher accused of biting kids was suspended for three days. Later relocated to Sleepy Hill Middle School.
Polk County Schools spokesperson Jason Geary said in a statement, “Although she described her actions as playing around with students, we expect our employees to act professionally and serve as models of mature behavior. They must set a good example for students to follow, and anything less is unacceptable,” So, even if just goofing around, no biting kids allowed.
