Police say Palm Harbor man was doing 130MPH on US-19. It’s not just yours. 22-year-old Tyler Michael Budd’s auto insurance rates are about to go up. The Palm Harbor man was street racing on US-19 Thursday, according to Channel 8. Police say he was reaching speeds of 130 miles per hour in “moderate to heavy traffic.”
They first clocked him at 78MPH in a 55MPH zone where US-19 meets Roosevelt Boulevard in Clearwater. Florida Highway Patrol says Budd then sped up. FHP tried to overtake Budd’s car but he initially evaded them. Budd was finally apprehended, arrested, and taken to Pinellas County Jail. Budd is now facing reckless driving and street racing charges. No word on whether or not they got the other driver who he was racing. [Source: Channel 8]
