We are 100% behind this! A Florida student has started a petition for a Saturday Super Bowl game or a Monday holiday. This can’t happen fast enough!

Frank Ruggeri of Palm Bay has started a petition on Change.org to move the day the Super Bowl is played. The 18 year-old high school student makes a strong argument in our opinion. He claims that a Saturday game would allow the younger fans to stay up late to watch the big game. Ruggeri also says that it would give other fans a day to “recover” from the Super Bowl party festivities. “It’s really, really important to me is because 17.2 million people miss work,” said Ruggeri. “That’s $44 billion less of productivity.

Ruggeri also throws some economic benefits into the mix. He believes that the NFL will get more viewers and the game and the host city will get more visitors.

Some people who have signed his petition suggest that if the game remains on Sunday, then Monday should be a federal holiday! If it were up to us, we would vote for the Monday holiday.

Right now Ruggeri has over 84,000 names on his Super Bowl petition. You can take a look at it here. Maybe if it reaches 150,000 signatures, the NFL will consider it.
