Kaylee Donnelly and Matt Hedrick's beagle, Cooter, was doing what young dogs do: running around in the yard and having fun. When Matt called for him and didn't see Cooter, he knew something was wrong. Kaylee and Matt put up flyers all over Pope County, Arkansas and posted on Facebook. "We had no luck finding our baby," Kaylee said.
Cooter went missing over two months ago. On Monday, November 29th, the couple received a text from an unknown number. "A lady texted saying she found our dog and called the number on his collar," said Kaylee. The thing is that the lady who texted Kaylee wasn't in Arkansas, she was in Palm Coast, Florida. That's over 1000 miles away! One can only imagine how Cooter ended up in the Sunshine State!
Matt and Kaylee will be making the trip to Florida this weekend to pick up their missing dog. They plan on giving Cooter's rescuer a very special gift: a Beagle puppy from the same litter as Cooter!
