Manatee Viewing Center In Apollo Beach Reopening Next Month
The Manatee Viewing Center in Apollo Beach will be reopening next month after being closed for more than a year. The Manatee Viewing Center is at Tampa Electric’s Big Bend Power Station on Dickman Rd.
The Viewing Center will reopen on Monday, November 1st and while some building will be open others will be under construction through the end of 2021. The gift shop is open, but the number of people will be limited and you will be required to wear a mask inside. Tampa Electric used the time the viewing center was closed to renovate and repair the education building.
Admission and parking at the Viewing Center will be free and the hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will be open every day expect for Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter.
The Viewing Center gets around 400,000 visitors per season to see the manatees and there is also a stingray touch tank, a nature trail and observation tower.
