Mayday Artisan Ice Cream scoops into Tampa. You scream. I scream. We all scream for designer artisan ice cream?

The North Florida ice cream shop Mayday Artisan Ice Cream moves into Ybor City at the former Hyppo Gourmet Ice Pops location. Same owner for both brands by the way. Stephen DeMare says “Ice cream’s proven to us to be more robust than just popsicles.” That’s the scoop.

Lots of competition, but plenty of spoons, right? Other artisan ice cream flavors expanding here in the bay area include Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams in Tampa Heights and Sparkman’s Wharf, and Chill Bros. in Tampa. Also Bright Ice over in Pinellas.

So many cones, so little time. Let’s try ’em ALL!
