University of South Florida Engineering student invention cuts ventilator shortage in half. Abby Blocker, Jacob Yarinsky and Carolyna Yamamoto Alves Pinto are just your average Engineering students over at USF. Well, maybe a little above average students working on their senior design project.

So, why not invent a device to help Covid Patients? They came up with a patent pending “Eucovent”. Simple, right? The device allows two patients to be ventilated by one ventilator machine. Yep, still a national ventilator shortage thanks to the  Covid-19 pandemic. The Eucovent is both safe and affordable.

Our 3 USF Engineers won a $20,000 first prize in the bioengineering competition from the National Institute of Health and the $10,000 first prize in the annual Innovation Technology Challenge from Jabil.
