The 2 most overlooked beaches in Pinellas County. The state of Florida is filled with beaches. Some are often busy, but some are overlooked. Several are right in our Pinellas County backyard.
Purewow.com looked at the beaches in Florida and saw that certain beaches are well known. Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, Daytona, Clearwater, we’re looking at you. However, there are some overlooked beaches that made their list. They can be found all around the state, but two are right nearby, and you probably know them.
On their list of nine overlooked beaches, the two Pinellas County beaches are:
Honeymoon Island in Dunedin: Just a little north of Clearwater Beach, Honeymoon Island State Park off of Dunedin. At the north end of the island is Honeymoon Island Beach.
Madeira Beach: When you cross from St. Petersburg over the intercoastal waterway, you’ll find Madeira Beach nestled between North Redington Beach and Treasure Island. With the same fine beach sand and waters as the top rated St. Petersburg Beach, it’s just a few minutes to John’s Pass.
Other beaches that made Purewow.com’s list are: Crescent Beach in St. Augustine, St. George Island in Franklin County, Blue Mountain Beach in South Walton, Delray Beach, Bahia Honda State Park, Juno Beach and Navarre Beach.
