Tampa Bay’s Morning Krewe

Weekdays 6:00AM - 10:00AM

The Tampa Bay Rays are going to defend their American League Championship. The Rays beat the Blue Jays Wednesday 7-1, to clinch a birth in the postseason. This is the third year in a row that the Rays have been in the postseason, which is the first time that has happened in franchise history.

This is also the first time they have clinched a postseason birth at the Trop since Evan Longoria hit a game winning homerun in Game 162 of the 2011 season.

The Rays haven’t clinched the American League East division yet, but they can clinch that as early as Saturday. They lead the second place Boston Red Sox by six games with 9 games to play.

The Rays announced that postseason tickets will go on sale next week and you can get all the details on that HERE.
