Deputies looking for attacker on Pinellas Trail. We’ve all been on the trail, right? Seems safe enough most of the time, but every now and then, it’s rider beware. Two young people say they were riding at about 7:30 in the evening when attacked by a man who didn’t like the way they were riding the trail? Neither was seriously hurt other than bumps and bruises in the unprovoked attack. Reminder: Be Careful!

Texting is meant to replace calling 911. You'll be able to relay info to those who can help you much faster by talking. Plus using the text service could tie up operators who need to help those who have no other option.
Long gaps between replies could prevent them from helping others.
Those trying to help you can't view them.
Dispatchers can't receive those. Makes sense too because if others get involved in a conversation, the operator could get confused.
Just text to 911 not 9-1-1 or 9 1 1.
The system is text based. Dispatchers won't see the visual emojis were used to seeing now in graphic form on our cell phones.
