Erriyon Knighton is only 17-years-old, but he will be the youngest member of the track and field team from this year’s Olympics and he is from Hillsborough High School in Tampa. Knighton came in third in the men’s 200-meter trials, which earned him a spot on the USA track and field team. Knighton has only been running track for three years and only got into it to help with his speed in football.
A few weeks ago Knighton ran the fastest U18 200-meter time in history at 20.11 and broke Usain Bolt’s U18 record. At the Olympic trials, he ran a 19.84 and finished third.
