Tampa Bay paddle boarders are preparing for an event to fight Cystic Fibrosis. Meet Sean Kaden with Brandon Burgers! June 23rd through the 27th, Sean will climb on this 14 foot paddleboard in Bimini. He and his amazing paddle boarders/friends will paddle 80 miles. The Crossing for Cystic Fibrosis is an 80 mile endurance challenge and international championship race. The fundraising proceeds support the Piper's Angels Foundation to achieve our mission of helping patients and families in the cystic fibrosis community. YOU can Volunteer for the event HERE
Hey, everybody knows I love Paddle Boarding. Racin 'em, Surfin 'em, and DownWinders. But, did he say 80 MILES? These amazing athletes have raised over $500,000 so far. You can help BIG time by making a donation HERE. Check out the message from Jimmy Buffett below.
One local Tampa Bay organizer is Travis Suit whose daughter Piper was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis at the young age of 4. The local crusade is called The Crossing For Cystic Fibrosis & The Pipers Angels foundation. "The Crossing For Cystic Fibrosis is a long-distance endurance paddle challenge and international championship race that takes paddlers 80 miles across the Gulf Stream from Bimini in the Bahamas back to the Florida mainland. The event was inspired because of the incredible health benefits of the Ocean for those living with cystic fibrosis, a terminal lung disease." www.PipersAngels.org

From Crossing For A Cure: About cystic fibrosis
Cystic fibrosis is a progressive, genetic disease that causes persistent lung infections and limits the ability to breathe over time. In people with CF, a defective gene causes a thick, buildup of mucus in the lungs, pancreas and other organs. In the lungs, the mucus clogs the airways and traps bacteria leading to infections, extensive lung damage and eventually, respiratory failure. In the pancreas, the mucus prevents the release of digestive enzymes that allow the body to break down food and absorb vital nutrients.

Bimini to Lake Worth FL = 80 Miles.
