Disney Cruise Line is hitting the water again… with passengers! They are hitting the high seas with test sailings starting later this month.
Out of everything that had to close due to the pandemic, I’ve been most curious about the cruise industry. It was quite intense for cruises and travelers back in March 2020 at the start of the pandemic. Now that things are starting to go back to normal, cruises look like they will be returning soon. Just announced today (6/1) Disney Cruise Line has been approved by the CDC to conduct a test cruise on board the Disney Dream. First it was Royal Caribbean and now Disney. Things are looking up! Disney’s test cruise will sail with volunteer passengers for a two-night sailing from June 29-July 1 from Port Canaveral, FL. This simulation cruise will help test Disney’s health and safety protocols:
“All of these protocols are essential to cruising responsibly, and Disney Cruise Line couldn’t be more committed to making vacation dreams come true as it prioritizes the well being of all who step aboard our ships.”
– Thomas Mazloum, President of Disney Signature Experiences
I’m pretty excited about this news. This is another step to getting back to normal.
