This week Governor Ron DeSantis has issued a state of emergency for Florida after the Colonial Pipeline shutdown. As we all know, people have started to hoard gas and you know what that turns in to: price gouging!
All across the state people are hoarding gas and because of it, you might see gas stations in Florida trying to charge way more that before the Colonial Pipeline shutdown. Not cool! Due to this, Attorney General Ashley Moody has activated the state’s price gouging hotline. During a state emergency, Florida law prohibits “unconscionable increase in the price of essential commodities.”
Also, as a side note, please don’t hoard gas. It might be tempting because your neighbors are doing it, but it is NOT a good idea!

To avoid price gouging and prevent a fuel shortage, do not hoard and only purchase gas when you need it. pic.twitter.com/nPGg2fOLfB
