Weekdays 10a-3p

With the pandemic slowin and hopefully a “back to normal” of sorts around the corner, we may have a problem. How do we get out and meet new people again? Need a refresher.

Seriously, meeting forlks and hanging out with total strangers is new all over again. Most of us haven’t done that in over a year. Here are some cool tips to use a a refresher. Yo may want to copy to your phone note pad. No. really! It will help. Especially if you have nothing in common. I like to start with the wide open “so tell me about your life?”

1.  Assume they’re interesting.  Most people ARE interesting once they open up.  So be curious and give them a chance.

2.  Be a good listener.  Most people love talking about themselves.  So be ready to ask questions.  Which is also a good tip on dates.

3.  Be willing to share and get personal.  If you’re vulnerable with someone and open up, they’ll open up too.

4.  Come prepared.  You can even use a cheat sheet if you need to.  It’s okay to have some preloaded questions that you can use over and over with different people.

We can always ask about “what kind of work do you do?”  but, another helpful question is, “What keeps you busy OUTSIDE of your job” . . . or “outside of your kids.”

Pretty cool way to push in another direction, and actually learn something interesting.

I trust dogs and horses, love country music, and country fried chicken. Fought many men, and loved only 1 woman. She's from Nashville, so the accent. Life is short. Make somebody smile, Dog-gonnit. Haaaaaa.
