Tampa Bay’s Morning Krewe

Weekdays 6:00AM - 10:00AM

If you watched the season premiere of The Voice on Monday (3/1) you saw a mullet rocking Tampa Bay area resident get four chairs to turn!

Kenzie Wheeler is 22-years-old from Dover, Florida. His rendition of Keith Whitley’s “Don’t Close Your Eyes” got all four judges to turn their chairs.

Kelly Clarkson was the first to recognize his talent and turn her chair within seconds of hearing his voice. She also used her one block of the season to keep Blake Shelton from being able to get him on Team Blake.

The three judges left with a chance to get him on their team were left to duke it out using their best pitches.

Ultimately, Kenzie chose to go with Team Kelly. We will be keeping an eye on Kenize throughout the competition. Good luck man!

Blake even told him he had the “triple threat mullet” and said he has the “rarest of all mullets, this guy is a unicorn!”
