Hillsborough River Won’t Turn Green For St. Patrick’s Day This Year

The City of Tampa cancelled their annual River O’Green Fest because of the coronavirus pandemic. That means the river will not be dyed green this year and event organizers said they “encourage everyone to celebrate safely by turning beverages green and supporting local restaurants for traditional Irish fare.” Mascot, Larry the Leprechaun, will still make appearances downtown even though the event is cancelled.

The City of Tampa did say that they plan to bring back the River O’Green Fest in 2022.

    Not only do they have some yummy food options (located in shipping containers - how cool?) but there are some great photo ops, too! Also, home to the area's first flower bar, Splitsville and JoToro.

  • Armature Works & Heights Public Market

    Lots of different food options to explore here, from sit down restaurants to walk-up counter service. Great for families or a date night. Cap off he night with a nice walk along the Riverwalk.

  • Clearwater Beach

    Perennially named one of the best beaches in the country!

  • St. Pete Beach

    Another beach that is in our backyard that is always on lists for the best in the U.S.

  • The Straz Center

    So many great Broadway shows to see at the Straz Center. You can take a class at the Patel Conservatory, too!
