Are You Still Waiting For December Packages? You’re Not Alone!
Unnnnbelievable. But you could still be weeks away from delivery. The US Postal has hundreds and thousands of packages sent in November and December in big, giant, massive piles. And the piles grow with new packages daily. One worker said it could be “Honestly six or eight weeks.” to clear the backlog.
A company called ShipMatrix says their data shows over a million packages across all carriers were delayed more than 30 days over the country. All I know is, I need my “Flowbee” ordered for Christmas. Haaaa. All they can do is ask for our patience. I’m gonna go with, “no problem” my hair cut can wait a few more months.
Let’s start with this. Package volumes were beyond anything seen in history. We ALL sent stuff to family we would normally be handing and hugging over holidays. Add poor preparation and a severe employee shortage due to rising COVID-19 cases, and we got trouble. Nearly 19,000 workers were in quarantine at the end of 2020 after being infected or exposed to the virus, according to the American Postal Workers Union. Hope they all heal up. And we can remain patient. Crazy ain’t it?
