Ever since the central Florida theme parks have reopened, they have been running at limited capacity.
Unlike Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando does not have a reservation system. They have closed off their gates a couple times after reaching capacity but never this early. The Universal Orlando theme parks opened this morning at 8am and ten minutes later they sent out a message all through social media that they had reached capacity. I underestimated how fast a park can fill up in just a few minutes. It does not come as a surprise, the holiday week always brings a huge crowd and now with the social distancing and limited capacity it’s even harder to get into the theme parks.
If you plan on visiting through the New Year, it might be a good idea to get to the parking garage early! Us locals might want to reschedule our trips to the theme parks.
Today, December 30th at 8:10 am, Universal Studios Florida & Islands of Adventure have reached capacity. We anticipate reopening later this afternoon. For updates, please call our capacity hotline: 407-817-8317 pic.twitter.com/Khn7RSn6eh— Universal Orlando Resort (@UniversalORL) December 30, 2020
