A precautionary boil water notice is in effect for residents in the area of Northwest Hillsborough County. This is after crews damaged a water main on Tuesday (12/15) around 4p just north of the Fawn Ridge Water Treatment Plant.
According to a press release from the county, “the boundary of the impacted area is west of Veterans Expressway to Ehrlich Road and west of Gunn Highway to Racetrack Road all the way to the Pinellas County line. Water service has been restored; however, customers in the impacted area are advised to boil water as a precautionary measure until a rescission notice is issued.”
It was just last week that crews damaged a different water main line that forced residents to boil water in the city of Tampa and some of the surrounding areas for a couple of days.

When boiling water to use, the CDC recommends to let the water boil for 1 minute once it reaches a roiling boil. Once cooled, pour the water into a clean container with a cover.
