Uber Will Give You A Discounted Ride To The Polls Today

Author Tampa Bay's Morning Krewe
November 3rd, 2020 7:55 AM

Uber is stepping up to help you vote today….so there is no reason for you not to vote today.

The 2020 Presidential election has finally arrived and lots of ride sharing services want to make sure you have a ride.

Uber partnered with TurboVote for an in-app feature which allows users help in getting to their polling places.

Uber, Lyft and Via are all in on the act.

Curb, which specializes in working with taxi companies to offer fixed upfront pricing instead of metered rates, is giving a $5 discount with the code VOTETODAY.

Uber is listing polling station locations in its app and offering 50% off rides to and from them, up to a $7 discount each way. Separately, it has teamed up with the Pizza to the Polls organization through Uber Eats to help coordinate free food requests for voters waiting in line.

Lyft users can also get a 50% discount on one ride to a polling station or ballot dropbox with a $10 limit using the code 2020VOTE. Lyft is also working with several nonprofits, including More Than a Vote and Student Veterans of America, to distribute free rides in certain areas. Bikes and scooters on the Uber and Lyft networks are included in their offers.

Uber Will Help You Register To Vote - And Give You A Discounted Ride To The Polls On Election Day

Uber is joining travel brands like Extended Stay America by jumping into the Get Out the Vote effort. "In August, I wrote in the New York Times that we would help every driver and delivery person register to vote-and that's exactly what we're doing," says Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi.
