The St. Pete Grand Prix is happening this weekend and if you are planning on going to the race then there are some things you need to know before you go. St. Pete Mayor Rick Kriseman held a press conference to talk about the event. He said, “We are as a city very comfortable with what’s been put in place for this race. This is always a great television commercial for St. Pete, and so in particular this year, we want to do it right and show it off.” Masks are required to attend the race and you will be required to do a health screening and temperature check.

General admission tickets that people people previously purchased will be accepted and reserved tickets have been reassigned to make sure social distancing is happening in the stands. Mayor Kriseman also reminded businesses that local restrictions apply even though the Governor put Florida in Phase 3 of reopening. So, you are going to a restaurant tables must be at least 6 feet apart and parties can’t be more than 10 people. If you are going to a bar you will not be able to stand at the bar.

The gates will open at 8:45 am on Friday, 8:15 am on Saturday and 9:15 am on Sunday. The actual IndyCar race is happening on Sunday at 2:30.
