Weekdays 3p-7p

Traveling might get easier now that Tampa International Airport is offering travelers COVID-19 tests right in the terminal.

TPA is working with BayCare Health System and will be the first airport to have pre-flight COVID testing in the United States, right at the terminal. Also, it’s a rapid test, only 15 minutes to get your results. That’s pretty cool but it is NOT free: Travelers can purchase two tests—a rapid antigen test for $57 or the Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test for $125. All you need to get a test is show proof that you have flown or flying within three days.

Passengers who test positive for the virus will be told not to board the plane. If they test positive after landing, those on their flight will be notified of the exposure.

Don’t worry, it’s not required. Getting a test at TPA is voluntary. I think this is a great option for people, especially since the holidays are just around the corner. It puts those who are worried at ease before or after traveling.
