Before the pandemic, Alyssa Clark was training to run some summer marathons. Instead of quitting when things started shutting down, Clark kept running.

Her first goal was to complete 15 marathons within 15 days. When the lockdown in Naples, Italy got extended throughout April, that 15 day goal soon became 61 when she broke the Guinness World Record. 

She reached her 87th marathon on Thursday, and plans to reach 100.

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) - In early March, Italy went into a strict COVID-19 related lockdown. Citizens leaving their homes had to carry special papers confirming they were out for "essential activities." Lockdowns of varying degrees followed around the world. As boredom and "cabin-fever" mounted, people searched for ways to fill the time.
