Yesterday, Tampa Mayor Jane Castor announced a mask ordience that went into effect TODAY at 5 p.m. with no end date.

If you do not have a mask, no worries. There will be FREE face coverings given out at a few locations around Tampa starting Saturday from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. until further notice:

  • Himes Ave. Complex – 4501 S. Himes Ave
  • MacFarlane Park – 1700 N. MacDill Ave.
  • Al Barnes Park – 2902 N. 32nd St.

No ID is required to receive a mask, and they are limited to two per person in the vehicle.

Businesses can request to pick up face coverings for staff and customers by filling out a form.

Some of us don’t live in Tampa and wonder if our city or county is requiring masks as well.

Hillsborough County
The Hillsborough County Emergency Policy Group (EPG) will meet on Monday, June 22 to discuss a potential mandatory mask ordinance.

Pinellas County
While a mandatory mask ordinance is not currently in place for Pinellas County, masks are required to be worn on public buses.

  • St. Petersburg: All business employees will be required to wear a mask or face covering when dealing with the public starting Friday, June 19 at 5 p.m. If not, they will be fined.
  • Clearwater: City leaders say they plan to follow what county commissioners decide at their next meeting on Tuesday, June 22.

Citrus County
Currently, there is not a mandatory mask ordinance in place.

DeSoto County
Currently, there is not a mandatory mask ordinance in place.

Hardee County
Currently, there is not a mandatory mask ordinance in place.

Hernando County
Currently, there is not a mandatory mask ordinance in place.

Highlands County
Currently, there is not a mandatory mask ordinance in place.

Manatee County
Currently, there is not a mandatory mask ordinance in place.

Pasco County
Currently, there is not a mandatory mask ordinance in place.

Polk County
Currently, there is not a mandatory mask ordinance in place.

Sarasota County
Currently, there is not a mandatory mask ordinance in place.
