Pier 1 Imports announced that they will close all of their stores including the 12 in the Tampa Bay area. They couldn’t find a buyer, so they have to close their stores.  The problem is that the stores have been closed due to COVID-19, so they need to reopen so that they can liquidate their stores.  “This decision follows months of working to identify a buyer who would continue to operate our business going forward,” CEO Robert Riesbeck said in a statement. “Unfortunately, the challenging retail environment has been significantly compounded by the profound impact of COVID19, hindering our ability to secure such a buyer and requiring us to wind down.”
