Coronavirus Information Center

Major League Baseball has issued a safety proposal for when they return to playing hopefully starting in early July. Under the proposal, the teams would be allowed to return to facilities in mid-June and would include 10,000 COVID-19 tests per week. Players would have to get their temperature checked multiple times per day including at their house before they leave for the stadium.

High-Fives, hugging, fist bumps, spitting and chewing sunflower seeds would all be prohibited.  Fields would also be encouraged to move several steps away from the baserunner in between pitches. Also, a ball will be thrown away if it is touched by multiple players and players are being asked to not throw the ball around the infield.
