Gwen Stefani Makes Grand Ole Opry Debut With Blake Shelton
Gwen Stefani recently topped the country charts for the first time with Blake Shelton on their duet “Nobody But You” and on Saturday (5/9), Gwen made her Grand Ole Opry debut. Of course, she had to do it remotely, performing with Shelton from their Oklahoma ranch.
Blake told Trace Adkins on the show, “Since we weren’t able to be there because of (quarantine) they sent her the parking place sign they give everybody for their first performance and the Grand Ole Opry microphone stand (which they used in their duet). She was taken aback.”
Shelton kicked off the performance with a solo performance of “Ol Red,” and then told Adkins, “Out of my recent duet partners … As much as I love you, Trace, I’m much happier to be quarantined with Gwen than you.” He added, “I still don’t feel like 600 miles is enough social distancing for you and I.”
Stefani said, “Is this happening? Am I really on the Grand Ole Opry?” and before the couple sang “Nobody But You,” Blake promised, “As soon this is all over, we’ll have to get you to the Opry House in Nashville and do this that way.” To which she replied, “This is already insane. That would be another level.”
