Most Tampa area malls are now reopened, although some stores have not reopened yet.

The largest owner of shopping malls in the nation is closing all of its malls temporarily because of the coronavirus.  Simon Property Group began the closing at 7pm on Wednesday and it will last until March 29th. “The health and safety of our shoppers, retailers and employees is of paramount importance and we are taking this step to help reduce the spread of COVID-19 in our communities,” the president of Simon Property Group, David Simon, said. The three Tampa Bay area malls that will be closed are Ellenton Premium Outlets, Tyrone Square and Tampa Premium Outlets.

In addition, Tampa Bay’s Westfield malls are also closed. This includes Westfield Brandon, Westfield Citrus Park, Westfield Countryside and Westfield Siesta Key.
