The Latest Data Breach: A Popular Gas Chain In Tampa Bay
Channel 8 reports that Wawa has discovered some kind of malware in their system and it is possible that every Wawa location has had data compromised since March of this year. They say credit card information like numbers, expiration dates and names on those cards might have been exposed at both the pump and in-store.
They found the problem December 10 and say they got it taken care of 2 days later. Wawa will provide a year of identity theft protection and credit monitoring if you call 1-800-386-9559. And of course, check your credit card statements to see if there are any weird charges.
