Some Tampa Bay area residents have to resort to using canoes to get to their houses this week.
According to News Channel 10, The Alafia River is spilling over its banks with current levels at 14.7 feet. Flood stage is 13 feet. Lot of people are parking on higher ground on Lithia Pinecrest Road to avoid their car getting ruined from the flooding. People who live at the end of the street, closest to the river say water is 3-4 feet in the deepest parts. Take caution with flooded areas and still water, harmful bacteria could be developing and open power lines are could be a threat too. Stay safe out there…
This is Brice- he had to paddle up the road in his canoe to get to his car this morning because of flooding. He lives of Lithia Pinecrest. He says he’s had to pull it out 3 times in the past few weeks! @BrightsideOn10 @10NewsWTSP #wx #flooding pic.twitter.com/W3muLI0Cwm
