6 Police Officers Shot In Philadelphia, Trying To Serve A Warrant
Yesterday was terrifying for the Philly PD while trying to serve a warrant, when they were shot at.
According to Fox News,
“Several officers with the Narcotics Strike Force were serving a warrant at the multifamily home — in connection with what may have been a drug-related offense — when things “went awry almost immediately,” and the shooter opened fire, Police Commissioner Richard Ross Jr. said.”
Police officers have a special place in my heart. My grandfather was a police officer, and many of my buddies that I served in the Marines with are police officers.
I think my english teacher in high school said it best,
“When you’re driving down the road, and see the red and blue lights in your rearview mirror. You automatically get mad at the police. When they finish writing you a ticket for speeding, you quickly drive off still mad at the officer. Without warning a deer jumps in front of you, and you over correct and flip your car. You’re dazed, and wondering what happened. When all of the sudden you see the lights. Then you thank god they were there. ”
Police have a job to do, whether it’s write you a ticket for speeding, or fighting major crime to keep us safe. Just like being in the military, they put their lives on the line everyday so we can live in a safe community. Next time you see an officer, let them know you care. It’s time we show them the support we give our military. The troops fight our battles overseas, and our officers fight our battles here on U.S. soil. From Kansas City where I’m from, to here in Tampa Bay. I stand with my brothers and sisters in blue.
The 6 officers shot are in stable condition, and are likely to make a full recovery.
