A man has been taken into custody after allegedly planning an attack on a Tampa elementary school. He is currently undergoing a mental health evaluation under the Baker Act.
Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office warned deputies about the alleged threat. Which now begs the question: who should be notified about school threats and in what situations? Should parents be notified right away?
According to Fox 13, the bulletin, labeled “situational awareness” and “law enforcement sensitive,” was sent Monday. The bulletin described the alleged plot hatched by 22-year-old Andrew Ivan Aman. His plot was to stab students at Bellamy Elementary School.
