They say they are in “crisis mode” right now in Tampa. The situation is so desperate at the Humane Society of Tampa Bay that they have waived fees to adopt a cat or kitten for the rest of the month. A rep from the shelter said on Facebook Live this week that they simply can’t even take any more strays in. In the video, you see cats crawling around all over. If you’ve been thinking of bringing a new pet home, you can do a lot of good this weekend. They are open today and tomorrow (June 21 and June 22) until 5pm. All of the cats will come spayed/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. Kitten adoptions normally cost $50 but they really need the space to help more strays. They do ask that you bring a carrier. If you don’t have one, they are available for $6.

We are in CRISIS mode! Our shelter is inundated with cats and kittens. We are WAIVING ALL CAT & KITTEN ADOPTION FEES until the end of June. Please note, due to our shelter being completely full we are unable to take in any more animals. Remember all of our animals come spayed/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. #WeAreHSTB #EveryLifeCounts #AdoptDontShop
