Weaver made a cameo appearance in the unrelated 2016 reboot as did original cast members Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Bill Murray, and Annie Potts. Harold Ramis passed away in 2014, and Rick Moranis tends to stay out of the spotlight, preferring voice-over work, since he semi-retired in 1997, following the death of his wife.
Rumor has it “Ghostbusters 3” will focus on Egon’s daughter finding ghosts in a small town, but the rumor hasn’t been confirmed.
“Ghostbusters 3” is scheduled to hit theaters July 10, 2020.
