Got a birthday party coming up? Well, you may want to consider not getting balloons for it. That’s because there is currently a nationwide shortage of helium.
Party City, which is where people commonly go to get balloons and have them filled, seems to be feeling a hit from the helium shortage. They have announced plans to close dozens of stores because of it.
“This year, after careful consideration and evaluation of our store fleet, we’ve made the decision to close more stores than usual in order to help optimize our market-level performance, focus on the most profitable locations and improve the overall health of our store portfolio,” CEO James Harrison said in a release.
In total, Party City plans to close 45 of their storefronts.
