Starting June 10 of this year, Clearwater will begin adding fluoride to its drinking water. This addition to the water has been in the works for quite some time.
According to the city’s official website, the Clearwater City Council approved the addition of fluoride to the water system on Sept. 1, 2016 (design work order) and April 19, 2018 (construction contract approval).
The new fluoride level is part of an effort to prevent tooth decay and it’s considered a public service.
