There’s a much better chance you’ll see a gator roaming around Tampa Bay this week. Today marks the start of alligator mating season. The hooking up generally happens in May and June. But the “courtship” phase of the relationship begins in April according to Fox 13. Apparently lady gators are not into casual hookups. They need to be romanced. Good for them. They say it’s the warmer weather that gets the cold-blooded gators moving. This week is when trappers phones start ringing. If you spot that’s over 4 feet long, they say you can call the “nuisance alligator hotline” at 1-866-392-4286.
