Opening day is almost upon us. No need to get cash out before the game though.

Tropicana Field became the first cashless sports venue in North America this year, so just a reminder to leave your cash at home. Opening day is this Thursday, March 28th. The Rays will be taking on the Houston Astros for a four-game series.

You won’t be able to use cash to pay for things at the Trop though, so if you’re planning on buying a beer or some merch, you’ll need one of the following payment methods:

  • major credit card
  • Rays gift cards
  • mobile payments (Apple Pay and Samsung Pay)
  • season-ticket Rays Cards

Fans who don’t have any of the above will be able to exchange cash for gift cards at retail locations inside Tropicana Field.
